PROTECTIVE
Protective was a central theme in designing the identity and packaging for WHAAM!, ensuring it honors and preserves the legacy of Roy Lichtenstein’s art while adding a modern twist. This approach highlights the connection and commitment to safeguarding the artistic integrity of Lichtenstein’s iconic Pop Art style.
OBJECTIVE
To create a powder latex paint brand inspired by the artist Roy Lichtenstein, the logo and package design will reflect his iconic Pop Art style while allowing it to shine in today’s modern age. This paint line aims to empower users to embrace their creativity while preserving the essence of Lichtenstein’s artistic legacy in a functional and visually striking way.
SOLUTION
I explored powder paint products and the artist, Roy Lichtenstein, to inspire the package design. The final concept captures the bold, graphic essence of Lichtenstein’s work, incorporating striking primary colors, halftone patterns, and comic-style illustrations that radiate energy and playfulness. While it pays homage to his style, the design also stands uniquely in today’s world. The packaging and branding reflect the artistic spirit while prioritizing functionality. This paint line emerges as a bold, creative force in the paint industry, inviting people to unleash their own Pop Art masterpieces.
