COURAGEOUS
The Rocky Horror Picture Show was courageous in 1975 for boldly challenging societal norms around gender, sexuality, and self-expression. Featuring groundbreaking representation of fluid identities and unapologetic sexual liberation. Its defiance of cinematic conventions and creation of a safe space for outsiders made it truly courageous. A revolutionary celebration of individuality and diversity in a conservative era.
OBJECTIVE
To design an engaging experience through the convention brochure, social media, and other deliverables. The visual identity should capture the culture, bravery, and seductive nature that flows through The Rocky Horror Picture Show and its film legacy. The purpose is to connect the audience to the cult classic, showcase the characters’ unique individuality, and generate interest and excitement around the event.
SOLUTION
I began with in-depth research on the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show, familiarizing myself with the target audience and those likely to attend the convention. I gathered all the essential information to include in the brochure and created a bold logo, color palette, and visuals that reflect the show’s identity. By utilizing the vivid, seductive imagery and compelling storyline, I designed a bold awe-inspiring brochure to excite viewers and generate awareness for the convention. This design was carried through the brochure, social media, and event giveaways to create buzz and anticipation for the upcoming convention event.
